Weaselhead Flats Druid Walk

It was a beautiful autumn day for our latest Druid Walk!   Weaselhead Park is an amazing park along the North West end of the Glenmore Reservoir and the mouth of the the Elbow River.   We met and started down the hill, across the bridge and took a trail to the right,  going west along the river.

Weaselhead Park

This post is filled with photos, more than usual, as it is just too difficult to leave any out.  The sky was just the right colour of blue, the aspen leaves a beautiful golden colour, and the White Spruce trees glorious and green.

The sound of running water always nearby is such a blessing in the city.   It is so hard to believe this park is in a city of over a million people.

Another thing that is hard to believe is that after the 2013 flood, unexploded explosives were found here.   They have all been since cleaned up according to this UXO brochure,  but signs are up to remind us to be careful.

Please have a look at the following pictures, and enjoy the meandering river, the wandering paths and lush vegetation of Weaselhead Flats.

At the end of our walk, we headed for lunch at the nearby Grey Eagle Casino.  Great friends, great food, and a beautiful day.  It was wonderful.   After lunch some of us headed down to another fantastic Calgary Park:  Fish Creek Park,  for a Bardic Initiation.  That however, is a story for another day.

Aine and I both took many more photos, and I just might upload them in another post.  They are just to pretty not to share.

Autumn Blessings to all,

Pagan Pride Day, Calgary, 2016

Last Saturday was Calgary's Pagan Pride Day!  Pagan groups from around Calgary attended with information booths on their respective traditions, and vendors brought their beautiful wares.

This was Chinook Hills Grove's first Pride Day with an information booth.  Feather, Aine and Amethyst spent the day chatting about the Grove, OBOD and how we practice Druidry in Alberta.

More information on the Calgary Pagan Pride society can be found on their website here.
